MBL Apac

MBL Apac has been set up in Apac Town, 300 km North of Kampala. This laboratory will serve as the centre for all medical research at MBL. It will have equipments for cutting-edge laboratory investigations and serve as the clinical parasitology research centre. The station is less than 1 km from Apac Hospital. The choice of Apac is supported by the fact that the district has the highest malaria infection rate on the globe [PMID: 16896122]. Uganda Ministry of Health estimates thateach personon average receives 1,600 malaria infected bites every year. That means more than four infected mosquito bites every night.

 

ARTC is dedicated to promoting effective solutions toimportantpublic health issues through research, training and service support for community development. ARTC aims to become a leading clinical trial site and make a significant positive impact on the community health through collaboration with the local Apac Hospital and the peripheral health facilities in the vicinity of the hospital
